1690 - The first manual Fire Engine at Alresford was kept in the tower of the Church.
1858 - A Horse drawn Fire Engine was purchased with 160ft of hose for £135.00 and was stored at the Swan Hotel.
1879 - Alresford Volunteer Fire Brigade was formed and it was headed by Captain Marx.
1881 - Town trust built a Fire Station in Broad Street. This was in use until 1940 when the existing Station was opened, and is still use today.

- combined fire & police station by 2016
- Alresford was built as the Winchester RDC Fire Brigade's HQ in 1938

Simon Adamson
- Winchester RDC FB built new stations at Alresford, Botley, West End, Hamble and Netley and occupied pub outbuildings at Twyford and Sutton Scotney. Subsequently, Netley (alias Hound) was closed by the NFS and Twyford and West End by Hampshire.
